This
wine, once called "wine of Mauves" (Mauves is a village outside
Tournon), is made from Syrah grapes.
The
St Joseph vineyard lies on the right bank of the Rhône, on a granite base
with gneiss and schist soil.
Our
own vineyards are nestled on the terraced hillside of St Jean de Muzols
and Tournon.
The
grapes are destemmed and the wine is made in closed tanks with controlled
temperatures. This process lasts 21 days. The wine is aged in barrels for
10 months.
Our
advice:
this wine goes
well with hot starters, chicken, duck breast, game and spicy dishes.
The
best serving temperature is between 16 and 18°C. |
